From idyllic ceremony spaces to romantic rose gardens and luxurious bedrooms, there are so many elements that make Pentney Abbey the dream wedding venue. Here are just five of them!
1. The Ceremony Spaces are Magnificent
Dating back to 1380, the medieval Gatehouse is the perfect location for your civil ceremony. With its grand exposed beams, ornate stone windows and secret spiral staircase, it’s the very epitome of romance – just the place to say ‘I do’. Of course, if you prefer, you can marry in The Barn. With exclusive use, the choice is entirely yours.
2. It’s the Perfect Venue Throughout the Year
Summer or winter, rain or shine, weddings at Pentney Abbey are glorious in every season. In the warmer months, we hope you will enjoy welcome drinks in the Rose Garden, while the barn offers warmth and elegance with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside during the winter.
3. You’ll Love the Main Barn
What could be a finer space for a wedding breakfast than a medieval barn that was originally designed as a banqueting hall? Boasting original features, the Barn at Pentney Abbey is exceptionally versatile, seating up to 130 guests and with a bar and space for your band or DJ. With a picturesque terrace, your guests can also spill outside in to the sunshine.
4. Weddings are a Gastronomic Delight!
Exceptional food is at the heart of every Pentney Abbey wedding and the talented team at Unique Norfolk Venues are on hand to create your bespoke menu. Chat to them about possible options, from fine dining in the Barn to afternoon tea in the Rose Garden.
5. You… and your Guests… Can Spend the Night
As your wedding day draws to a close, we don’t want you to leave! At Pentney Abbey, you can relax in the knowledge that you can spend the night on this romantic, historical estate. We think you’ll love the luxurious Bridal Cottage, a secluded hideaway just for the two of you with beautiful countryside views. Meanwhile, your closest friends and family can spend the night in our cosy Farmhouse or one of the two guest cottages on site. Enjoy breakfast together the following morning before going your separate ways.
